A better way to do dinner

Adulting is hard. Deciding what’s for dinner shouldn’t be.

Let DishWell make life easier. Plan meals your family will love, keep your favorite recipes organized, and turn your weekly menu into a smarter grocery list—all in one place.

The everyday problem

Dinner shouldn’t require a daily planning meeting.

Every evening brings the same quiet negotiation: deciding what to make, remembering what’s in the fridge, working around who likes what, and squeezing in one more trip to the store. It’s a small decision that never stops coming back—and it lands on top of everything else.

  1. 4:45 pm “So… what’s for dinner?”
  2. 4:52 pm “Do we even have onions?”
  3. 5:05 pm “The kids won’t eat that.”
  4. 5:20 pm “I’ll just run to the store.”

What we’re building

Everything dinner asks of you, gathered in one calm place.

In development The features below are what DishWell is being designed to do.

01

A weekly plan that fits your actual week.

Personalized meal plans built around what your household likes, the cuisines you love, your schedule, and how much time you really have to cook—quick on busy Tuesdays, a little slower on Sundays.

  • Preferences
  • Cuisines
  • Schedules
  • Prep time
02

A recipe box that keeps up with you.

Save family favorites and newly discovered recipes in one organized place, so the good ones never get lost in a screenshot folder again.

03

One grocery list. Already combined.

Your weekly menu becomes a single list that adds up shared ingredients across meals and accounts for the staples you already keep at home.

04

Plan it together.

Shared meal plans keep the whole household on the same page—everyone’s preferences, one plan, and no more texting “what are we doing for dinner?” at 5 pm.

  1. 05

    Smarter grocery shopping

Help getting your list from the kitchen to the store, organized the way you shop. In the future, we hope to connect lists with grocery retailers—nothing to announce yet.

  2. 06

    Use what you already have

Make better use of pantry ingredients and leftovers, so half a bag of spinach becomes Thursday’s dinner instead of next week’s compost.

  3. 07

    Cooking without the fuss

Clear, accessible recipes with straightforward instructions—easy to follow at the stove, whatever your skill level.

How it works

Three steps from “what should we eat?” to dinner on the table.

A wooden cutting board laid out with prepped ingredients: half an avocado, cherry tomatoes, eggs, mushrooms, spinach, sliced chili and green onions.
  1. Plan your week.

Organize meals your family will enjoy, shaped around your tastes and your schedule.

  2. Get your grocery list.

Bring every ingredient together into one practical, combined list.

  3. Cook and enjoy.

Spend less energy deciding and more time enjoying dinner together.

The vision

The whole dinner routine, finally connected.

Today, meal ideas live in one app, recipes in another, preferences in your head, and the grocery list on the back of an envelope. DishWell aims to bring them together, so each part of dinner informs the next.

  • Meal planning shapes the week
  • Recipes fill in the details
  • Family preferences keep everyone happy
  • Grocery shopping follows automatically

Our story

One less thing to carry.

Busy lives are full of recurring responsibilities, and deciding what to cook is one that shows up every single day. It’s never a big decision on its own—but it’s a constant one, and it quietly takes up space alongside work, school, schedules, and everything else.

DishWell began as a family project with a simple aim: make that daily decision easier. We’re building it carefully, starting with the tools we wish we had at our own table.

Less time deciding. More time at the table.

Make dinner easier.

DishWell is being built right now for iPhone. There’s nothing to download just yet—but if you have ideas about what would make dinner easier in your home, we’d genuinely love to hear them.
